Determination
Firmness of purpose; resoluteness
When a leader is determined, they feel like they can do anything. Determination is a concept that leaders should adopt because it shows their followers that they’re going to sacrifice a lot to finish or tackle a task. If I wasn’t as determined in achieving my goals, they would take longer to finish, putting my life on pause. My life is more meaningful when I incorporate the concept of determination into my daily routine.
Caring
Displaying kindness and concern for others
To be a caring person is important when being successful. I’ve seen many people who were older than me who weren’t caring to those who appreciated them, and this helped lead to their downfall. It leads to their downfall because when that leader struggled, they had no one to rely on because their followers felt uncared for and didn’t want to show an action to a leader when the leader wouldn’t return that same action. When a leader is caring towards their followers, it makes their life better as it gives them a sense knowing that they have a group of people who will care for them.
Faith
Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
When I put faith at the top of my lifestyle values, I found a peace I never thought possible. Faith has taught me to control what I can control and leave the things I can’t control up to God. Faith is a concept that should be adopted by leaders because it will allow them to feel more at peace when having to make a big decision for their team. Over the years, I hope to grow my faith and make it stronger.
Respect
A feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements
When growing up, my parents taught me to respect everyone, even if I disagreed with them. This value has made my life better because it has allowed me to make a lot of friends, even if I disagree with some of their views. It’s also important to be a respectful leader because it allows them to give opinions on others/their ideas, even if they disagree with them. Providing constructive feedback to followers is important because it doesn't lead them to feel bad. A leader having respect can take them a long way.
Learning
A process that leads to change, which occurs as a result of experience and increases the potential for improved performance and future learning
If a leader can learn, then they will make it very far in life. For me, I always enjoy learning because it means that I can always find mistakes within myself. If I find mistakes within myself, that means I’ll be able to make improvements and become a better human being. A leader should also appreciate the concept of learning because learning anything new will always be beneficial to the work they provide for their followers. Those who are learning leaders will benefit society and those around them.
